Why self-care is a priority for me?
And some ways I am practicing it during this pandemic….
This pandemic has made me realize a lot of things, especially the fact that self-care is important. I have decided to make it a priority these days, and implement it to the best of my abilities. I realize that self-care can mean a bunch of different things for different people, but here is my list of realistic self-care goals everyone can benefit from.
1. Improving your mental diet
Everything changes when you realize that your diet isn’t just what you eat. It is a combination of what you are watching, reading, the people you follow (either on social media or real life), and who you spend your time with.
Just like how a balanced diet helps us move one step closer to a healthier body, having a healthier mental diet starts with removing the junk from what we consume and feed ourselves.
2. Learning to let people down
Understanding that mental health takes precedence over your career, money, other people’s opinions, that event you turned town, your partner’s mood…
